The Events Coordinator, the planner, the logistical powerhouse of the CTF branch
Core Responsibilities
- Making sure that CTF events are planned and are planned well
- Co-ordinating with SO to get the rooms sorted and the risks assesed
- Checking things through with the CC, to make sure that things are good, logistically
- Taking event ideas and turning them into reality, basically
- Planning out the logistics behind each event and what needs to be done, by whom, by when
- Distributing the relevant tasks to the relevant CMs
- CC and CEO are synergetic roles, so if one starts to wane (out of necessity), the other should try to cover while necessary
Desired Attributes
- Good at generating comprehensive plans from ideas
- Comprehensive, thinking about all the things
- Coming up with any fallbacks and being prepared where necessary
- Caution is better than Risk
- e.g. if you want to book a larger room, just in case, because you have good reason to think that the normal room may overflow, that’s perfect
- Quick to understand event logistics
- If you’re not already experienced, as long as you pick it up quickly, that’s good
- Good at communicating and distributing work to those that should do it
- A good understanding of CTF events and what logistics such an event may involve
Committee Connections
Relations Officer: The RO will likely receive propositions or send propositions for events between universities, the CEO will need to know about such events
Academic Events Officer: I don’t know how much interaction there will be normally, but the type of work is quite similar? so maybe exchanging advice. Obvs will need to work together for large events
CTF Chair: Well, I mean… A lot of the logistical considerations planned out by the CEO will need to be passed up to the CC to be checked and approved by various other CMs. Also, a lot of these ideas will hopefully have been fleshed out by the CC, so there’ll be a bit of back-and-forth involved in fine-tuning the balance between the Vision and the logistics
Space Officer: Bookings spaces and things are most easily done via the SO
??? Coach: If there is a Coach, some of the events involved will be team training, so that probably requires less forethought and planning, just team coaching sessions
Notes
- Honestly, the CEO likely doesn’t have to do as much work as the AEO, since the events organised by the CEO will usually be on the simpler side, logistics-wise, i.e. get a room and get the attendees to bring their laptop, the CM running the event will handle the rest :p
- The CEO will probably have their crunch time preparing for the ICTF event, whenever in the year that is, so that’s probably the biggest thing on the CEO’s plate
